Meet Melissa (Missy) Jones and Tim Salafie, two self-professed plant nerds who were physically incapable of holding indoor desk jobs and destined to start a business together. Missy and Tim met while working at a large landscape design firm and were immediately impressed with the other’s prodigious work ethic and talent. With complementary skills and backgrounds, these two partners are down-to-earth professionals who operate in a realistic, unpretentious manner and focus on the work at hand.

Missy Jones

AG founder Missy Jones once ran her own garden center. She went on to graduate from The George Washington University Landscape Design Program. She strives to create garden designs that include structural elements and plants that provide year- round interest. Her feeling is that since the garden is an extension of the home, these “outdoor rooms” should directly relate to the house in proportion, arrangement and style.

Tim Salafie

After spending over twenty years in the landscape industry, there is very little AG founder Tim Salafie hasn’t done. His experience includes designing and installing hardscapes, custom water features, and outdoor landscape lighting. He has extensive knowledge in horticulture, grade changes, and drainage issues. Tim strives to use the region’s natural resources, such as Western Maryland and Pennsylvania stone combined with indigenous plant materials to create a natural environment.
